Istead Rise Community Centre

Istead Rise is typical of rural areas: Young families and teenagers with little to do. The past four years has seen the Community Association work hard to get a MUGA, play equipment, a skateboard ramp, and a shelter. The final and largest part of the jigsaw was the extension of the club house so that teenagers and younger children had somewhere of their own to go. The cost was kept to around £80k through a lot of voluntary input. When it stumbled to find the last £10k Kuflink Foundation stepped in. The Kuflink Foundation explained, “This is just the sort of project The Foundation wants to support: It helps young people and the local community has rolled its sleeves up to show it is serious.”

Istead Rise Community Association Chairman, Roger Symes; “To know the Kuflink Foundation is there in the background to help youngsters is uplifting. We are extremely grateful.”
